Struggle or otherwise you will get nothing!

Hmm,,,Waiting for the head o department to arrive is not an easy task,,

Beside struggling with such bore, I read my novel :)

"Lukisan Hujan", a classic story of a highschool girl in love with a college boy :)

I didn't realise, I did took my time, staying for such a long time in campus :) waiting for something unpredictable.

But, Finally...since 9:30 am i was waiting, the head of department showed up at 01.00 pm. And I did had a very satisfying day today :)

Just believe in such struggle, just be yourself and fight for those you want to fight for!

international studio

Department of Architecture and Planning, Gadjah Mada University has opened up a link to the international world, by Adding International Studio as one of the optional subject on the Department.

The MDKB (Magister Desain Kawasan Binaan) students and Reguler Undergraduate Students are given the opportunity to design or re-design a project which is located in New Orleans, America.

Today, at 8:00 p.m., most of the students were gathered in K5 Room for a teleconference with the partner university in America. A Video System was also used, to make sure that all members of the course and the partner university were able to see each other.

This event was very motivating and it is a simple way to be in contact with the global world. And I'm hoping that Gadjah Mada University, especially my department (LOL!) will keep on creating links for going international.

ITSUMO GANBATTE KUDASAI! \(^^,)9

Kuliah Kerja Arsitektur 2007

Singapore, as we know is a very small sized city, but full of skycrappers and urban lifestyle is done mostly in it. As a place to observe and seek at, most of 2nd year's students of Department of Architecture and Planning, Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta went to singapore from the 13th of august until 18th of august 2007. We all did see a different side of Asia, where modern lifestyle and old lifestyle are combined through diversities of behavior and environment.
As an architecture students, we all saw through a huge lense of a reality, WHAT. WHO, HOW, WHY, FOR WHOM such architectural developments were planned and still developing in Singapore today. Singapore is one very good example to mirror at, concerning on the modern life city. Singapore goverment has set singapore in fulfilling a mission: "To make singapore a A city to Live, Work and Play in".
With this mission, goverment in collaboration with particular institutions has created a varieties of facilities and other amenities beyond the city. And singapore is now still developing into a superb city with the mission underlining the most part of the process.
Later, I will try to write any interests I found during my visit with my friends. This is just the beginning, I hope anybody who come by and read this entry would enjoy :)

Thank you \(^_^)9

Gamelan Masa Kini

Gamelan, a traditional musical instrument in Java and Bali, is now believed to have a healing and relaxing effects to mind, body and soul. It was truly stated by Mr.Sapto Rahardjo during "The Yogyakarta Gamelan Festival", held at Taman Budaya Yogyakarta on the 7th-11th of July 2007.
During the festival, people from every part of the world, played the instrument. Or at least play along with it. The one I remembered was from Canada (if O am not mistaken) and one came from Japan (playing marimba). Others were kids from SLB and youngsters academy (geronimo radio staffs and members).
This festival brought gamelan into a new image. From it, gamelan can be seen as a new and inovative instrument which could create a variety of genres. From traditional javanese and balinese, jazz, pop, until disco. Beats and tempos created by gamelan are so flexible.
Not only for fun, and musical creativity, but this instrument has been researched for the effects on the player and the listener. And by the research, conclusion was made as I mentioned on the top of the article. It heals and relaxes the mind, body and soul.

I hope Gamelan will still be one of Indonesia's famous traditional musical instrument and give an inovative idea to the world of Music.

I Love Gamelans Smile
